The new Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel (ULSF) is causing excessive wear to injectors, fuel pump, o-rings, and lift pumps on all diesels. The rigorous hydrotreating process used to reduce the amount of sulfur in fuel also reduces the fuel's lubricating properties. Lubricity is a measure of the fuel's ability to lubricate and protect the various parts of the engine's fuel injection system from wear. This processing also affects cold flow properties, corrosion resistance, and oxidation. Prolonged use of today's diesel fuel without a supplemental high quality additive could result in injector, o-ring or lift pump failure. New injectors are about $3500.00 installed. Cetane Boost Diesel Fuel Additive (ACB)
An ashless, alcohol-free additive that improves cetane up to seven points for increased power and performance in all diesel engines. AMSOIL Cetane Boost Additive improves diesel fuel quality that benefits all diesel engines, especially high performance designs. Supported by extensive testing and years of field trial use, this additive has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to improve diesel engine performance. Average diesel fuel cetane number is only 40, but high performance diesel engines like Cummins, Powerstroke, and Duramax operate best with cetane values of 50 or higher.
Cetane Boost increases fuel economy up to 2%, providing more complete combustion for better performance, power, and drivability. Diesel Cold Flow Improver (DFF)
Best when added to Diesel Concentrate Fuel Additive (ADF) to improve cold weather performance in applications below 40°F
A premium fuel additive that lowers diesel fuel cold flow properties as much as 20°F (11°C). AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver for diesel fuel is designed for use in Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel (ULSD) and conventional fuels. It functions by modifying wax crystal formation at low temperatures to depress the pour point and improve cold flow filtration properties. AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver contains jet fuel-type deicer to help prevent ice formation in fuels contaminated with water. It is recommended for use with all diesel engines and is compatible with diesel exhaust particulate filters (DPFs). AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver is recommended for use in #2 diesel fuel, #1 diesel fuel, kerosene, heating oil and biodiesel.
